Bioavailability – What is it?

WHAT DOES BIOAVAILABILITY MEAN?
The term "bioavailability" expresses – simply put – how well certain substances, vitamins, or minerals can be absorbed by the body. The decisive factor here is the percentage that enters the bloodstream – because only there can the nutrients be absorbed and further utilized by the body. According to Adam Riese, 100% is the best value for the bioavailability of a nutrient, because it means that the ingested nutrient can be completely absorbed and further utilized by the body. Different foods have different bioavailability levels. For example, many secondary and simultaneously valuable plant substances, such as turmeric, guarana, or ginger, have very low bioavailability. This means that although we can consume the plant substances without any problems, our body is unfortunately unable to utilize the beneficial plant substances at all. The majority is excreted again without us being able to achieve any beneficial effect on our immune system or our body. The problem of bioavailability is particularly evident with vitamins: the fat-soluble vitamins A, E and K are not easily bioavailable unless we take them together with fats.
HOW CAN WE INCREASE BIOAVAILABILITY?
Like many others, we were aware of the numerous positive properties of secondary plant substances, but we too were faced with the problem of their limited availability. We wanted to offer you drinks that not only sound good but also have a positive effect on the body, and so we took on the challenge. After several years of intensive research, our SoluSmart technology was developed. We have managed to significantly increase the bioavailability of poorly soluble plant substances – so much so that we achieve a better bioavailability by a factor of 100 or more. High-quality MCT oils spontaneously link together upon contact with water and enclose the beneficial ingredients. This creates numerous small transport vesicles that can dock onto the intestinal mucosa, where they are recognized as fat molecules. Once docked onto the intestinal wall, the transport vesicles release the valuable ingredients again, allowing them to easily enter the bloodstream. The ingredients then travel through the bloodstream to the cells and can work where they are needed (e.g., in the muscles or the heart). The following graphic illustrates the technology once again.
